Here’s a popular Civil War-era tune, Lorena Video issues: I uploaded this yesterday along with several other videos using Quicktime X. Playing the clips on YouTube, I noticed that the audio was slightly out of sync with the video. It’s really noticeable if you are trying to follow fingering patterns along to the music. Stuff like that really bugs me. I deleted this clip, and then re-uploaded it using Quicktime 7 Pro, using the advanced settings options that are not available in Quicktime X, to optimize the video for YouTube. I think that fixed the problem. For a while I was real happy to be able to upload directly and fast from my video camera, but it seems I have to reprocess each individual video clip with the optimum settings or they are out of sync. Maybe there’s a faster work-around, but I haven’t found it yet. Sorry I lost a few video comments when I re-uploaded this. *Note: I fixed all the videos i uploaded on Saturday. Took me all Sunday afternoon to do it. I lost the HD along the way, but am glad they are all in synch now. Interestingly, they are now in something called HTML5. There is an option to play the video faster or slower if you have HTML5 capability in the browser you are using. If you see a button just below the video that says “Normal”, click on that and you will have several speed options. Great tool for slowing tunes down to learn them!
