French-Canadian Fiddle Tunes with Devon & Dejah Leger

Two French-Canadian fiddle tunes. Devon s playing the fiddle (tuned ADAE) and Dejahs playing guitar (tuned DADGAD). Sorry the video bounces when the feet start stomping. We had the camera on a side table and we were clogging pretty hard! The first tune is Marche de Mme. Robichaud and comes from the playing of New Brunswick fiddler Gerry Robichaud. The second tune is a grondeuse (growling tune) from Henri Landry, a fiddler from Quebec . Devon learned the tune from a jam session with Lisa Ornstein who learned it from Henri during a house visit. Both are beautiful examples of crooked French-Canadian tunes.
