Actor/entertainer Randall Franks is best known as “Officer Randy Goode” from TV’s “In the Heat of the Night,” a role he performed on NBC and CBS from 1988-1993, hosts a visit to the 1890s Day Jamboree in Ringgold, Ga. Memorial Day weekend 2012. Franks highlights the presentation of the Randall Franks Trophy to the top fiddler at the Old Time Fiddlers Convention. Presentation of the award honoring the legacy of Bluegrass Music Legend Randall Franks began by state authority at Lake Lanier Islands, Ga. in 1994. Among the former winners is the late legendary Southern contest fiddler Jack Weeks of Dalton, Ga. In this fiddle off is Doug Fleener of Leitchfield, Ky., from 16-21 age category, Johnny Ray Watts of Lineville, Ala., from 22-50 category, and Mack Snoderly of Clyde, NC, winner of the 51 and up category.
