Brendan Keenan plays the bodhran as Hillar Bergman plays “The Girl I Left Behind Me” on an 1/8 size Suzuki violin. This size instrument is typically used by very young children when first beginning on the violin. The 1/8 Suzuki is amplified using a “Pignose” portable amplifier. The Pignose is the small brown box on the floor of the deck (just to the right of my feet). The video is only 42 seconds in length. The size of the violin (aka fiddle) can be seen at the very end of the tune when I turn it away from beneath my chin. The bow is very short and proportional to the size of the fiddle. This is by no means a toy instrument! Sure is a lot of fun to play. Thanks for watching and please leave a comment.
